Manuel Antonio
This park is just south of Quepos on the Pacific
Coast, 132 km from San José. It is so popular because of
its expensive white sand beaches backed by lush junglet
that grows right up to the high tide line. The principal habitants
are primary forest, secondary forest, mangrove swamps, lagoons
and beach vegetation. There is quite a varied fauna with 109 species
of mammals and 184 of birds. The park includes 12 little isles
just off the coast; these are a number of dolphins and, at times,
migrating whales can be observed.
This is a wonderful place to spend a day in the rain forest.
This is a magical place where the nature let you see a lot of
monkeys, slots and mush more. Also one of the most beautiful
beaches in the country is into the park, and you will have time
to enjoy the water swimming there. In this tour we include the
transportation, bilingual tours guide, water for the walk, and
a very good lunch.

Carara National Park
Carara is a favorite with bird watchers for several reasons besides its ease of access. First, its position in a transition zone means that residents of both habitats are likely to appear. Second, the Río Grande de Tárcoles has free flowing sections and its waters seep into seasonal marshlands and a shallow oxbow lake covered with hyacinths further expanding number of local habitats. Finally, because it is slightly dryer, and not all of the trees are evergreen, Carara is more open than the rainforests further south making wildlife spotting easier.
Lucky birdwatchers may also see the coveted jacamar and several species
of trogons. Monkeys, crocodiles, armadillos and peccaries also live
Carara. The park is about 2 hours from San José on the road between Puntarenas
and Jaco Beach. In this tour we include the
transportation, bilingual tours guide, water for the walk, and
a very good lunch.
